Rollins' return pushes Phils past Giants

Baseball Betting Lines

05/10/2008 - San Francisco, CA (Baseball Betting) - Jimmy Rollins made an immediate impact in his return from the disabled list, going 3-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI, as the Philadelphia Phillies rallied to down the San Francisco Giants, 7-4, in the opener of a three-game set from AT&T Park.

Cole Hamels (4-3) gave up four runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and three walks over seven innings to pick up the win.

Pedro Feliz went 2-for-5 with an RBI and Carlos Ruiz knocked in two runs for the Phillies, who have won four of their last six games.

Pat Misch gave up four runs on six hits with four strikeouts and three walks in six innings, but did not record a decision. Tyler Walker (1-1) allowed three runs on two hits in one-third of an inning to absorb the loss.

Emmanuel Burriss was 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI for the Giants, who have dropped five straight outings. Eugenio Velez and Fred Lewis each had an RBI, while Randy Winn finished 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Trailing 4-1 in the fifth, Rollins followed a two-out single by Hamels with his third home run of the season and Feliz tied the score with an RBI double in the sixth.

The Phillies forged ahead with three runs in the eighth. Walker issued a leadoff walk to Pat Burrell, who was replaced by So Taguchi, and Jayson Werth lined a single to center. Walker fanned Feliz, but the ball bounced away far enough from Bengie Molina to allow the runners to move up.

Ruiz then grounded sharply to Velez and Taguchi went on contact, beating the second baseman's throw to the plate. Greg Dobbs followed with a pinch-hit single that plated Werth. Keiichi Yabu relieved Walker and gave up an RBI double to Rollins.

Tom Gordon worked around a pair of walks in the eighth and Brad Lidge struck out the side in the ninth to notch his ninth save of the season.

A two-out single by Ruiz put the Phillies on the board in the top of the second, but Lewis tied the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the third.

Hamels ran into trouble with two outs in the fourth. After intentionally walking Rich Aurilia to put runners on first and second, Velez reached on an infield single that plated Winn, who led off with a double and got a huge jump on the play. Burriss then lined a two-run triple to right field to give the Giants a 4-1 lead.
